At least eight people, including two women and two children,
were killed and four others injured as a bus collided with a microbus at
Sreenagar in Munshiganj this afternoon.
Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately, our local correspondent reports.
The accident took place on Dhaka-Mawa highway when a microbus
carrying a groom’s party was on way to Dhaka’s Keraniganj from
Munshiganj’s Louhajang around 2:00pm, said Officer-in-charge (OC) of
Srinagar Police Station Hedaytul Islam Bhuiyan.
The accident left driver of the microbus and its seven passengers dead on the spot and injured four of both the vehicles, said the OC.
Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Sreenagar Upazila Health Complex while the injured was sent to Dhaka.
Police seized both the vehicles from the spot, the OC added.
