Fire catches in city’s Kalshi slum
A devastating fire has been broken out at a slum in the Kalshi area in the capital on the early hour of Friday (12:30 am Thursday night). According to the fire service department, the fire was ignited at about 12:50 am on Thursday night (Early Friday).
Eleven fire fighting units are working to douse the fire but their efforts are being obstructed by the shortage of water. About 150 houses have already been gutted as firefighters run out of the water after half an hour they started fire extinguishing.
The slum near the Baunia dam in Kalshi under the city’s Mirpur area contains around 300 houses that were burning till the news was posted.
However, reason behind the fire was not confirmed yet and no casualties were reported.
